Torac Elena

Torac Elena is one of the most famous egg painters in Bukovina, born on 16th of Jannuary 1961 in Brodina.

She learned this custom from her mother who learned « writing  » on eggs from her grandmother. She learned painting eggs in her childhood, which, in time became a pasion, and in the last 10 years became a proffitable buissnes. Still, egg painting was and will be a pasion for her.

A certain proof of her talent are the diplomas and the prices she obtained at the many national and international contests she participated at. Her last price was the 2^nd price at the egg painting contest at the national festival of painted eggs in Ciocanesti.  Another price she won at Ciocanesti was the 1th price at epigrams, with the following epigram :

                     « Can you not love

                    The mayor of Ciocanesti ?

                    With such a  festival

                    And in the end carnival. »

             Elena told us that the admiration and entusiasm of the people who buy her eggs worth more than all the diplomas she earned.
